University of Calcutta has begun the admission process for its M.Phil programmes for the upcoming academic session. The university is offering a Doctor of Philosophy course in Statistics and Computers. The interested and eligible candidates may apply according to the prescribed format.
Eligibility criteria:

  • The candidates must have an M.A. or M.Sc degree in Statistics from a recognised university or institute
  • They must have a minimum score of 55 percent in their qualifying degree, if it is from University of Calcutta; however if their degree is from any other university, then they are required to have scored at least 60 percent
  • The candidates who have any of these qualifications- NET, SET any equivalent national level examination do not need to appear for the entrance test, they can appear for the interview round directly

Application procedure: The application form is available at the official website of the university, They are required to send the hard copy of the duly filled form to the university. The envelope encasing the application should read 'Application for M.Phil in Statistics and Computers Application'.
Application fee: There is an application fee of Rs 200 for the candidates under General category. Those under the SC, ST and PwD categories have to pay a fee of Rs 100. The payment can be made through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of 'University of Calcutta' or 'C.U.'.
Selection procedure: The candidates will be selected on the basis of an entrance exam. Those who clear the exam will be called for an interview round.
